WOMAD:
A deviation from the noun 'nomad'. A female member of a group of people who moves from one place to another to explore new opportunities
We are here to accelerate the success of Mexican girls and women who decide to migrate for whatever circumstance. We want to do that by providing access to information, finance and education that boosts their resilience, self-esteem, accessibility and visibility, financial autonomy, sexual autonomy and networks taking into account their migratory context. We want to:
Inspire them
Through stories and personal experiences
Empower them
Through practical tools and opportunities
Back them
Through funding and mentorship
Women who decide to migrate are strong, determined and fearless, so there is no doubt the will succeed one way or the other. However, being far from home is not always easy. One day you feel top of the world in your new home country, next day you miss your family and can't find a job. It is hard leaving loved ones behind. It is hard to settle in a new place with a new language, a new culture, new rules.
The decision to migrate is not easy, it is very personal. Success is not in doubt, I just want to see migrant women succeed at an accelerated pace.
